The fallout continues from the brash and insensitive claims Mark Wahlberg made about singlehandedly stopping 9/11 terrorists.
Despite, due to mass public backlash, the actor's remorseful issued apology, Vice magazine co-founder Shane Smith has now challenged the backpedalling actor to a fight.
Smith took to Twitter overnight stating, "I will fight Mark Wahlberg and if he beats me I will concede he could have stopped 9/11. But if I win he has to stop 'acting.'"
Given the underwhelming reviews of Wahlberg's latest showing,
Contraband, many may be in Smith's corner, regardless of their outrage at Marky Mark's remarks.
While he doesn't look in great shape, Smith does appear to have a big size advantage over the 176cm Wahlberg. He also tweeted hobbies of "boxing" and "whisky" – which make for a violent combination.
On the other hand, Wahlberg claims to have been in trouble 20–25 times with the Boston Police Department as a youth. By the age of 13, he had developed an addiction to cocaine and other substances, and at 16 attacked a man, leaving him permanently blind in one eye, for which he served time.
That's not to mention the years he claimed to have trained for his role in The Fighter, or the hard-hitting rap album 'Marky Mark' released in 1994, Life in the Streets.
He may get to know that life again if he fails to take down Smith like he would those terrorists.
Your say: Should Wahlberg agree to the bout, which man would come out on top?
